Position: Nurse Manager (No Weekends!)

Job Summary:
This position is accountable for leading, managing and directing Charge Nurses and Nursing Staff of assigned Manatee County Rural Health Services Centers. This individual functions as a resource to the Charge Nurses regarding Departmental and Organizational Policies and Procedures. This individual assures that services are administered utilizing professional standards with a strong focus on quality, timely care and exceptional customer service. This individual will be responsible with assisting the Charge Nurses with day to day administrative operations as necessary including staffing issues, interviewing, training, etc

  • Responsible for provide leading, managing, coaching and guiding all associates assigned to the department and maintaining positive, effective communication with providers, supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
  • Collaborates with health care providers in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the needs of the patients and the organization. Develops solid, strategic business plans and department SMART goals.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as necessary, i.e. evaluations, discipline, and staffing.
  • Meets regularly with subordinate staff to identify and resolve issues and promote good communication and dissemination of information.
  • Maintains an open line of communication with the Director of Operations, informing of the status of centers and staff. Utilizes the Director of Operations as a resource.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper training is conducted, including: Orientation, skills/competency training, new equipment training, continuing education, standard operating procedures, policies and documentation within the electronic health record.
Requirements:
  • Licensed LPN or RN in good standing with the Florida Board of Nursing 
  •  Minimum of 3+ years of experience in professional nursing experience 
  •  Minimum of 1+ years of experience in Charge Nurse with MCR Health Services preferred
  •  Strong, in-depth knowledge of leadership principles and practices, including: Nursing operations, patient flow, human resources management, asset management, inform, regulatory compliance, customer service, and evidence-based patient care. 
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Current CPR certification 
  • Florida State driver's license
