Position: Coding Analyst/Behavioral Health

Job Summary:
The Coding Analyst/Behavioral Health is responsible for managing the daily provider coding charge entry and auditing for multiple Behavioral Health locations within Skill Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities and offices. Assigning the appropriate CPT-4, HCPCS, and ICD-10 code(s) to medical/behavioral health services rendered by MCRHS providers. The Coding Analysts/BH is relied upon for expertise on necessary elements of all documentation completed and audits to determine compliance levels regularly they follow the billing and coding rules and regulations in accordance with the Federal, State, and Insurance regulatory laws and they are responsible for the training and monitoring of assigned departmental staff and staff clinicians. The Coding Analyst is also responsible for the gathering and disseminating of information related to implementing policies, procedures, and protocols to facilitate the needs of the organization with billing and reimbursement related issues.
  • High School Graduate or GED 
  • Must be able to organize data for easy retrieval 
  • Must have working knowledge of physiology, psychiatric and medical terminology 
  • Must have working knowledge with ICD-10 and CPT coding (minimum 2 years) 
  • Must have working knowledge in Managed Care, Government Payers, and Private Payers 
  • Must have Coding Certification from AAPC or other MCRHS accepted Certifying Board. 
  • Preferred experience in chart auditing for Behavioral Health (minimum 2 years). 
  • Must have experience and/or education in computer data entry 
  • Must have working experience in chart auditing for coding accuracy 
  • Must have experience with coding & billing of clinical and hospital/surgical procedures and hospital services (minimum 2 years) 
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision 
  • Must have working knowledge of computers, calculators and typewriters 
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and complete assignments weekly 
  • Must be courteous, helpful and maintain patient confidentiality
